Redmi Note 9T passes through certification, will come with a MediaTek 5G SoC

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the next lineup of devices under the successful Redmi Note branding. We recently reported on what we presume will be called the Redmi Note 10 4G, as it passed through TENAA. A few more Xiaomi-Redmi devices have passed through TENAA, and recent certification filings indicate that one of the upcoming phones will be called the Redmi Note 9T.

A new Xiaomi device with the model number M2007J22C recently passed through TENAA earlier this month. And thanks to information from XDA Senior Member kacskrz, we know that the device will be called the Redmi Note 9T, at least in its Global avatar (M2007J22G).

According to TENAA, the Redmi Note 9T will come with specifications such as a 6.53″ 1080×2400 IPS LCD, an octa-core CPU with a max frequency of 2.4GHz, a 4900 mAh battery, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. RAM options on this phone will include 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, while storage would range between 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, along with microSD expansion of up to 512GB. The device would further have a triple rear camera setup, comprising of a 48MP main shooter and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The phone will launch with Android 10, though the MIUI version of the device is unknown. Further, 5G support on the phone will be extended to SA and NSA across Band 41, Band 78, and Band 79. This phone will measure 161.96 × 77.25 × 9.20 mm, and weigh 200g.

XDA Senior Member Deic further adds to these, mentioning that we can further expect features such as up to 27W fast charging, and NFC. The device is also expected to come with a MediaTek SoC, and the third camera will be a macro camera in all probability. There is some confusion on the existence of the ultra-wide-angle camera between the China variant and the Global variant, so it’s best to wait to hear more from Xiaomi on the same.
