OnePlus 6 appears on TENAA, confirms many specifications

Throughout the last month or so we’ve been hearing various tidbits about the upcoming flagship smartphone from OnePlus. It was early last week when folks within the company confirmed the OnePlus 6 would come with a glass back, which many have assumed is to accommodate for wireless charging. A couple of days later it was announced that the OnePlus 6 would be launched in India on May 16th, but at the time there still hadn’t been much said about the hardware specs of the device. However, a new listing on TENAA (China’s version of the FCC) has listed a device with the model number “OnePlus A6000” and with that we get a list some of the technical specs for the smartphone.

It’s natural to assume the upcoming smartphone from OnePlus will be equipped with the Snapdragon 845 and this information says that is correct. We know the chip is capable of hitting CPU clock speeds of 2.8GHz with its bigger Kryo cluster, but this certification page says OnePlus has dialed that back a bit to 2.45GHz. If true, then we could see it taking a hit when it comes to performance, but that would allow the battery to last longer. While we could still see the more expensive version of the OnePlus 6 with 8GB of RAM, the one that was certified with TENAA had 6GB instead.

That will likely be the memory configuration for the less expensive version as this 6GB model also comes with 64GB of internal storage as well. Continuing through this certification page we can see the display is said to be 6.28″ with a pixel resolution of 2280 x 1080. It’s still rather shocking that OnePlus continues to refuse to transition to a QuadHD display, but it will enable the graphics benchmarks to achieve high numbers. The front of the device will also house a 16MP selfie camera which will be paired with a 20MP and 16MP dual camera setup on the back.

This will be packed in a device with dimension of 155.7×75.35×7.75mm, weigh 177 grams, and will be powered by a 3,300mAh capacity battery. The company will also be shipping the OnePlus 6 with Android 8.1 out of the box as well.
