Remix OS Based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow Now Available for Google Pixel C!

We’ve talked a lot about Remix OS in the past. Remix OS is helping create better Android tablets, and in their quest, we’ve partnered with them to host their forums here on XDA. Recently, Remix also went on to announce Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for their OS builds.

Today’s announcement brings the Remix OS love to one more device: the Google Pixel C! The Pixel C was one of the most often requested devices for Remix OS support, and now you can run this productivity focused OS on your Pixel C. The Pixel C can now run Remix OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the build for which can be downloaded from Remix’s website.

In addition to the new supported device, Remix has also announced the addition of a new feature on Remix OS. This is a new experimental feature coming in the form of Gaming Toolkit that allows for key-mapping. To enable this feature on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on Remix OS 3.0:

1. Go to ‘Settings > Experimental feature > Key mapping’
2. Enable ‘Key mapping’
3. Open up a game of your choice
4. Next, go to your App Drawer, find and open “Gaming Toolkit”

Remix OS is also inviting feedback on this feature. You can find ways to send them feedback on the forum thread for the same.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your Google Pixel C and flash away!
